IHASC SPECIAL SESSION: ECO-MATERIALS & SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION” held alongside the 4th EuroMagh Congress on Biocomposites:
The IHASC special session at the margins of this congress featured an invitation to a diverse panel discussing the theme of “ecological materials and sustainable construction.” The presentations from various panelists were as follows:
- Brahim Benhamou (UCA, Marrakech, and IHASC, President): UCA’s experience in the valorization of vegetal and industrial co-products in construction materials.
- S. Naji (Architect, Anthropologist): Palaeo-innovation and vernacular techniques in earth and stone: a series of projects serving social economy in the Anti-Atlas region.
- Nabil Boumert (Architect, ALOMRANE Holding, Marrakech): AL OMRANE’s proactive approach aiming for exemplarity and sustainability.
- Abdellatif Imad (Polytech Lille): Valorization of plant fibers in construction materials in African countries.
- Rachid Hakkou (UCA, Marrakech): Transforming mine wastes into sustainable raw materials for the construction industry through circular materials management and resource governance.
